Hexicons is an ongoing project creating 46,656 unique sculptures; Six triangles shaded in six colors to form 46,656 unique hexagons, each of which assigned meaning by their respective owners. The form, scale and materials of each 46,656 Hexicons may vary from wood to plastic to large-scale metal. Only one version of each combination will be produced. Collectively, a Hexicon language is then created, the values of which kept within a public database available online for others to experience, decipher, and share.
The project is a study in symbolism, wherby the owner of each hexicon assigns the icon a meaning (a word, concept, a place, etc.) and collectively a symbolic lexicon is created - culmiating in a unique hexicon language. The values are kept and shared via a public online database so that others may decipher the meaning behind an abstract hexicon they may encounter.
